Answers for prospective Cool Hand Luke's franchise owners.
Ideally, we are looking for franchise owners who have restaurant experience. If you have experience managing, running, or operating a restaurant in your DNA and on your resume, we want to talk with you. Franchise owners should not be on the line cooking every night, but should be able to understand the varied roles in operations, from the front door through the kitchen. We want you to be the face of the community, creating the family atmosphere our brand is known for in each market we serve.
You sure can! Today we have multi-unit owners and believe that's a great option for some of our franchisees. We offer a multi-unit discount on initial franchise fees with a commitment for two or more restaurants.
Typically our restaurants are between 5,000 and 8,000 square feet. We recommend looking for sites with adjacent parking, good visibility, and good traffic counts. Once you join the brand, we'll discuss the site parameters to help you evaluate real estate, which will guide site selection for your Cool Hand Luke's.
Depending on a variety of factors, signing to opening typically takes 3 to 12 months. This is based on the site you choose — a pre-existing space can be converted more quickly. We have an established process for opening, setup, and training in addition to the build-out process.
Our owners are looking for a team of about 60 employees to fully staff the restaurant. You'll want a variety of cross-trained team members to support a full week's schedule. We recommend a mix of full- and part-time employees to cover all shifts.
See our Investment page for the full table. Startup funding includes the initial franchise fee and other estimated costs such as 3rd-party professional fees, insurance, equipment, furniture, initial marketing, and 3 months of working capital.
We recommend running your numbers through a 3rd-party financial pre-qualifier.
We're able to share our Financial Performance Representation, called an Item 19, in our Franchise Disclosure Document, which highlights affiliate performance and history. This can be a useful tool to help you evaluate the revenue potential of your individual business.
